MLB Playoffs: Recap of Dodgers’ Game 6 NLCS win
Introduction: MLB Playoffs
The Los Angeles Dodgers did it. They’re going to the World Cup.
A day after the New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Gardens in 10 innings to secure their first World Series ticket, the Dodgers returned to Dodger Stadium and stunningly beat the New York Mets to clinch the National League Series Six . The game came and advanced to the Fall Classic and the end of the Mets’ magical playoff run.

In the end, it didn’t matter who the Dodgers put on the mound. They had enough offense to overcome the hurdles and return to the World Series. Shohei Ohtani and rookie Tommy Edman (who joined midseason) led the way with five RBIs and four hits to secure the emphatic victory in Game 6. The Dodgers scored at least seven runs in all of their wins in the series and in one of their two losses another six.
When Sean Manaiah had his worst performance of the postseason on Sunday,
a wave of offense engulfed the Mets and decimated their starting lineup. The same goes for Luis Severino and Jose Quintana, who started the series. The upset ended a magical run in which the Mets had to make key decisions as free agents, from first baseman Pete Alonso to the aforementioned three pitchers. They fought valiantly, but ultimately it was the Dodgers’ problem, not the Mets. The former team had too much at stake for New York.
World Series look: Los Angeles’ win sets up a dream duel with the New York Yankees. The two teams have faced each other many times in the Fortune Classic, but this is the first time since 1981. Ohtani and Aaron Judge, two likely MVPs in their respective leagues, will take center stage,
supporting players like Juan Soto and Mookie Betts. Giancarlo Stanton and Freddie Freeman provide more star power if they stay healthy enough. While some world-class talents are overshadowed by others, Judge and Ohtani are the focus of this series. —
