Neutral site games are increasingly being played during the nonconference portion of the college football season, but not on Friday when the Jayhawks and Rebels play at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City.
That’s because construction and renovations are underway in the Lawrence Gateway area and at David Booth Memorial Stadium in Kansas City. Kansas made the announcement in January after the 2023 season.
“It is exciting to see construction of the Gateway District and Kansas David Booth Memorial Stadium begin in earnest in Lawrence. This decision will allow construction to continue on schedule while improving the project budget and fan experience in 2024.”
