Taylor Fritz CNN – No American player has won a Grand Slam singles title since Andy Roddick won the 2003 US Open. Taylor Fritz has a chance to end that drought.

Coming back from two sets, Fritz beat his compatriot Francis Tiafoe 4:6, 7:5, 4:6, 6:4, 6:1 in the final of the US Open on Friday.
In Sunday’s championship match, 12th-ranked Fritz will meet world number one Jannik Sinner, who defeated the British Jack Draper 7:5, 7:6(3), 6:2 to win his first US Open.
This is Fritz’s first career Grand Slam semifinal appearance, while No. 20 seed Tiafoe reached the stage for the first time at the 2022 US Open.
