Justin Anderson, was busy coaching college football, Kenedi was busy dreaming of the stage.

Her American Idol Moment

Kenedi shot to fame in 2022 when she auditioned for Season 20 of American Idol.
She sang Lady Gaga’s “Applause,” and let me tell you, the judges – Katy Perry,
Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan – were floored! Luke even said she might be “the biggest star we’ve ever seen,”
and Katy called her a natural-born star. They handed her one of just three Platinum Tickets,
which let her skip a round in Hollywood Week. Talk about a golden moment!

She made it to the Top 24, wowing everyone with her performance of Christina Perri’s “Human” in Hawaii.
But then, out of nowhere, she left the show. Host Ryan Seacrest announced it was for “personal reasons,”
and Kenedi later shared on Instagram that it was a tough call but the right one for her.

After leaving Idol, Kenedi didn’t just disappear. She graduated high school in 2022,
rocking a blue gown and a big smile. Then, in June 2024, she dropped a bombshell –
she was putting music on hold to serve an 18-month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Honolulu, Hawaii.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, she said it was her way of giving back after all her blessings.
She started her mission in July 2024, so she’s out there spreading love and faith right now!

But don’t worry – she’s not quitting music for good. Kenedi’s promised to keep singing,
and fans are eagerly waiting for her return in 2026. Before her mission, she teased new songs on social media, hinting that her best work is yet to come.
